YOU can’t start the day without:
Snuggles with my daughter Milly!
A favourite quote:
'She was powerful not because she wasn't scared but because she went on so strongly despite the fear.' Atticus
One wellness ritual you do regularly:
I always make sure I set aside some pamper time...getting my hair/nails/lashes done. Even a massage! Something that makes me feel like I've got it together!
A blog you love
I LOVE Emily Smith's blog called 'The Nike Life' (@thenikelifex). Emily's story is so inspiring, she's got some loveable quirk and she is a genuine, selfless individual who promotes the concept of not waiting until life happens to us but going out there and making things happen for ourselves. A must read!
Which business or person inspires you right now and why? There are so many! Probably at the top of my list right now is Silver Stork - Bespoke Care Packages. I CANNOT rave about Caz (the owner) enough and the delicate, thoughtful and intimate care she puts into each and every package right down to the personalised handwritten letters to every expecting and new mum that crosses the Silver Stork path. Her business practices are something I completely admire and try my best to learn from!
What has been the most defining moment in your career to date?
I started my business baking cookies in my home kitchen. Nine months later the cookies had turned over six figures and Made to Milk partnered with a large-scale food manufacturer to outsource the baking. I will never forget the moment those first 5000 pre-baked and packed cookies rocked up to my doorstep - things just got real! How was I ever going to sell so many? What had I gotten myself into? The most defining moment - pushing aside that fear and accepting the fact that from here on out I was going big or going home!
Who has helped you progress in your career the most?
A fear you've had to overcome to pursue your ambitions:
My biggest fear was putting a product out there that nobody would love and it's been tough to push past! It's so easy to compare what I am doing with other phenomenal businesses and feel like I just can never measure up! It's taken months and months of incredible messages, stories and positive feedback from mums using the Made to Milk Cookies to overcome that fear and realise that I've really got something special going on.
An achievement you're most proud of:
Earlier this year there was a big crack down on lactation brands making health claims. Basically no lactation business can even hint at the possibility that milk supply will increase because there have been no 'formal' studies conducted. This almost broke me! How was I going to be able to explain what my product is designed to do? My whole website, advertising and packaging had to be completely changed. It was a huge job but I'm SO proud to love what I do enough to push through the hard times because I KNOW my products work and I KNOW the difference they make to breastfeeding mother's all over Australia.
On a particularly hard day when I just thought it was too much and I was ready to throw in the towel, I sat down and read through our 100+ facebook reviews. Before long I was in tears and the powerful stories of just how much of an impact Made to Milk was making and it gave me a renewed vigour to continue!
Life/career advice you wish you had been given in your early 20s:
DO WHAT YOU LOVE. Don't settle for something that will 'just' pay the bills or allow you limited amount of time spent with the people you love most in the world. You have untapped skill sets, go out and discover what your amazing strengths are and work them to your advantage!

For women who want to make a positive change in their life, what advice would you give them?
Everybody starts somewhere! Don't wait for the perfect time to start or when you have more funds. Just start with what you have and do what you can. You can do ANYTHING. You just have to do it.
What does thriving mean to you?
To me it means feeling and encompassing an inner joy, passion drive. Making the absolute best of what you have and finding love in the simple things of life.
